Previously: I love you but not too.
—
Samantha: Tessa takes a shower and Hardin “fiddles through my underwear drawer to keep himself busy.” Doesn’t have a cell phone? Damn.
Marines: Like is he juggling panties? What’s going on?
Samantha: They get back to Tessa’s car and he comments on how she’s a bad driver and starts cross examining her about her relationship with Zed. Dreeeeaaaaamy. She tells him that she’s isn’t asking him about Molly, and he notices that this is the longest they have ever gotten along so they shouldn’t fight now. Basically “Hey girl, don’t feel your justified annoyed feelings at my invasive questions because I don’t want to deal with it.”
He then starts getting her hot and bothered and I daydream about them driving off the road and dying. He does stop when she tells him too, but probably only because his actual life was on the line.
They get to Karen and Ken’s house and it’s awkward, as you’d expect when you manipulate your boyfriend into hanging with his estranged father. They plant some seeds and stuff. Hours later they finish up and Karen says that Tessa is good for Hardin, with her magic love that fixes broken soul or whatever. Tessa makes sure that it’s okay she spends the night with him here and Karen is like
Mari: “As long as you become the buffer between Hardin’s violence and me, I guess it’s okay!” — Karen, probably.
Samantha: Tessa stammers about how she and Hardin haven’t had sex which, like, way to give more details than necessary Tessa. They go inside and her and Hardin go upstairs and start making out. She tells him that she wants to shower and so he invades her personal space and asks if he can shower with her. “He smiles and pushes his way into the bathroom before I can answer.” Just ’cause you’re smiling more now Hardin doesn’t make any of this cute.
Also, wow this chapter was short and pointless.
Mari: We say, nearly every chapter.
