Previously: Cloak & Dagger charmed us so much that it’s one of our favorite of the Marvel TV shows.

Sweeney: If you’re actively checking the blog on the regular, you might notice that this publication date is a lie. The end of the year is a time of genuine chaos for many of us. Mari joked that every year the blog dies in December and gets resurrected in January, but I’m doing my best to at least keep the podcast trucking through this month.
This episode is probably the epitome of “because of reasons” in terms of why, exactly, we’re doing this one? November was a travel heavy month, where it was rare for both of us to be at home at the same time, so we had to plan our recordings well in advance. We were looking at November movie releases, and from our perspective back in early October, this adaptation seemed like it could be interesting. I read (and hated) the original Millennium trilogy and never continued on with the books after David Lagercrantz took over, but this is an adaptation of the 4th book / first book not written by the original author Stieg Larsson.
When we decided to cover this, I knew I had to ask my dear friend Nick Jenkins to join us, not only because he has lots of insightful things to say about movies, but because the Swedish adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is one of his favorite movies. In addition to being senior producer for Crash Course, Nick is the host of Reel Bad, a podcast about bad movies and why they want to hurt us.
Check out the episode to find out how we felt about this take on Lisbeth Salander and her adventures.
