Marines: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is an interactive film that Netflix released at the end of 2018. I’ve never seen any other Black Mirror (and pretty much intend to keep it that way…), so the big selling point for me here was INTERACTIVE! I mean, I call this a Choose Your Own Adventure throughout the podcast episode, calling back to Snark Squad’s children’s books roots. We are who we are.
Joining us this week is pod regular, Ceri Riley– Crash Course script editor, Monstress editorial assistant, and entire warm fuzzy on Twitter and Instagram. Ceri co-hosts the SciShow Tangents Podcast. And also back for another appearance is Rachel Calderon-Navarro, co-host of Reel Love.
This conversation was super interesting as we approached this both as a game and as a story. We also each played it a little differently, and comparing all of that was fun, too!
I’m really curious about your experience watching and playing Bandersnatch. Please let us know down in the comments or over on Twitter what you thought of Bandersnatch! You can also come talk to us about this episode on the Discord, which is an added bonus of signing up for our newsletter or joining us on Patreon.
Here is the video Sweeney referenced. There are older ones with just Sweeney and I but I rather not link them or watch them or remember they exist again. The links on screen are broken on the video because YouTube changed how it did things, but the links still exist in the description so you can play along if you watch on YouTube.

As always, thank you to Stefan Chin for our delightful theme music.
For those of you watching and reading along, here is our planned upcoming media in the order they’ll be released: The Good Place, Emma, Alita: Battle Angel, and the second seasons of both Riverdale & The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (our poll ended in a tie and we decided to run with it).
