Snark Squad Pod #067 – Unicorn Store (2017)

Previously: We returned to the Buffyverse and were sorely disappointed in what we found.

Sweeney: I probably watched the trailer for Unicorn Store about a dozen times and so I was thrilled when Mari agreed to watch it for the podcast. I am, in general, loving all of Brie Larson’s many press appearances right now for Captain Marvel so the fact that she also made her directorial debut with a quirky adult coming of age movie was just icing on the cake.

My go-to ask for cool female-driven films is my dear friend Caitlin Hofmeister who previously joined us on our Atomic Blonde episode. Caitlin is Senior Producer for SciShow and the podcast SciShow Tangents. She also has her own wonderful (and relevant to this movie!) podcast called You’re Doing Just Fine. You can also find her on Twitter, being something of a cousin to this podcast @snarkyfern.

For those of you watching and reading along, here is our planned upcoming media in the order they’ll be released: ShrillAvengers 4: Endgame, Daisy Jones & the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (winner of our most recent Patreon poll!).

Nicole Sweeney

Nicole is the co-captain of Snark Squad and these days she spends most of her time editing podcasts. She spends too much time on Twitter and very occasionally vlogs and blogs. In her day job she's a producer, editor, director, and sometimes host of educational YouTube channels. She loves travel, maps, panda gifs, and semicolons. Writing biographies stresses her out; she crowd sourced this one years ago and has been using a version of it ever since. She would like to thank Twitter for their help.
