Snark Squad Pod #101 – The Witcher (2019– )

Previously: We looked back  on our 2019 in media, the good, the bad, and the tropey.

Marines: Chances are, if you’ve listened to this podcast at all regularly, you’ve heard me mention The Witcher and/or trying to get Nicole to play the game. Nicole doesn’t really play video games, so this was always a fruitless effort. And then! Netflix announced it was adapting the popular fantasy novels turned popular video games into a TV series starring Henry Cavill. It was an easier way for Nicole to experience the world I have so many (mixed) feelings about.

As always, we invited more friends to join us on this journey. Susan Dennard is the author of the Something Strange and Deadly series as well as The Witchlands series. She also gives spectacular writing advice via her newsletter, which you can learn more about on her website. Deboki Chakravarti is a science communicator who makes amazing YouTube videos about books and science.

We talked about this after we finished recording, but as I watched, I had a big time feeling Nicole was not going to like this. Find out if I was right, and whether or not there was anything to like here:

Marines

I'm a 30-something south Floridan who loves the beach but cannot swim. Such is my life, full of small contradictions and little trivialities. My main life goals are never to take life too seriously, but to do everything I attempt seriously well. After that, my life goals devolve into things like not wearing pants and eating all of the Zebra Cakes in the world. THE WORLD.
