Sweeney: Everything is weird right now and so it is not surprising that our media habits also feel weird right now. Mari and I have found ourselves updating each other on the weird ebbs and flows of our media consumption, and, unsurprisingly, watching the same stuff has been an important way we’ve stayed connected. So in that way things are pretty normal.
When she messaged me that she had started watching The Half of It, I had pressed play within the hour of her finishing it and by the time I was done it was clear that we needed to do a podcast episode about it. The next day our dear friend Ceri Riley tweeted about her love of the movie and we knew we had to ask our Cooler Than Homework cohost to join us and thankfully she agreed.
Unsurprisingly, we loved this queer, immigrant coming of age friendship movie, and we had a lot of feelings about it. Hear all of those feelings in this week’s episode:
