Sweeney: Hello again remember us? A month or two ago Mari decided that the whole blog would remain on hiatus until the new year – and she has about a dozen recaps lined up and ready to go so GET EXCITED. However the Spotify Wrapped For Podcasters thing was like “you uploaded 9 episodes this year” and I don’t know guys, that was extremely depressing. So I was determined to get this up before the end of the year in order to get us into double digits. (Granted, the first episode of the year was 2019 in Media so that means we had 8 ~content~ episodes but listen we’re all just doing our best here.)
We all know what this year was. It’s wild to me that 2019 in media was our 100th episode and 2020 is our… 109th. A whole yike, except that the will to make this project happen was one of the lesser casualties of 2020 so here we are.
This episode is, as always, our attempt to reflect on the media we consumed in the previous year, notice some trends, talk about stuff we didn’t cover on the podcast, and tie it all together. In the two previous wrap-ups we had about 50 episodes of stuff we did cover so this year’s stuff we didn’t cover we, in fact, too long to include all of. I neglected to mention my Disney Princess Phase, for example, a very important part of my 2020 in media.
But, as with all things 2020, we did our best:
