Snark Squad Pod #127- Shogun (2024–)

Previously: A teenager was investigating murders on TV, so we had to watch.

Sweeney: As you likely heard or saw if you’re here, reading this blog, the Emmys were this week. When we noticed that Shogun led the pack in nominations and was still in its first season, that seemed like an obvious pick for our Emmy-week episode.

Our first choice to come talk to us about the show was JJ, who has so many thoughtful and interesting things to say about nerdy media over on TikTok, and elsewhere on the internet.

We recorded this ahead of the actual awards themselves, but I will spoil the episode now by saying that we were all rooting for this show aggressively. (And we were not disappointed!)

We’d love to hear your thoughts about this episode! You can leave a comment below, find us over on our Twitter, or you can come talk to us about this episode on Discord, which is an added bonus of signing up for our newsletter or joining us on Patreon.

Nicole Sweeney (all posts)

Nicole is the co-captain of Snark Squad and these days she spends most of her time editing podcasts. She spends too much time on Twitter and very occasionally vlogs and blogs. In her day job she's a producer, editor, director, and sometimes host of educational YouTube channels. She loves travel, maps, panda gifs, and semicolons. Writing biographies stresses her out; she crowd sourced this one years ago and has been using a version of it ever since. She would like to thank Twitter for their help.

I'm a 30-something south Floridan who loves the beach but cannot swim. Such is my life, full of small contradictions and little trivialities. My main life goals are never to take life too seriously, but to do everything I attempt seriously well. After that, my life goals devolve into things like not wearing pants and eating all of the Zebra Cakes in the world. THE WORLD.
