Previously: We read Krysten Ritter’s debut novel and decided it was OK but we all should have consumed it as an audiobook.

Sweeney: HELLO AGAIN. It’s the first podcast episode of February which I mention only to say LOOK AT US GO, WE’RE STILL DOING THE THING.
A while back, some reader on the blog (still unidentified, if anyone wants to own up) suggested that we recap a summer series from last year, Midnight Texas. The show was adapted from a book by Charlaine Harris who wrote the novels that brought us True Blood, and features a grab bag of mythical characters. Armed with only the knowledge we gleaned from the trailer and the comfort of knowing it was only 10 (network TV) episodes, we decided to take it on for the podcast.
I happen to have a group of friends with whom I periodically have TV binge days and when I told them I had to watch a show that looks like it might be kind of terrible, they agreed to watch it with me anyway, without question, because they are great. One of those friends, the delightful and charming Marie Ann Fernandez-Silva, joined us to talk about this thing that we all… experienced.
We hope you enjoy. (The podcast, at least; I take no responsibility for anyone’s decision to watch the show.)
