It's the sorta-real-but-not-exactly-real story of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, played with aplomb by Nicholas Cage, as he takes on the challenge of adapting Susan Orleans' book The Orchid Thief for the big screen. Orleans' book is a rumination on passions and disappointments, framed by a story about orchid poaching in Florida.
