Segue Magic: Parental torment and 1000 posts!

As promised, these Segue Magic posts will now be once a week wrap-up posts. This one is kind of a doozy because we made a little scheduling switch. Sweeney's videos will be going up on Mondays, Kirsti's on Wednesday and mine will be up on Fridays.
Since we made that switch in the middle of a topic, we have a few more videos to share with you than normal, but for the most part, these posts will only feature three four-minute videos going forward. Basically what I'm saying is, "SORRY FOR SO MUCH OF OUR FACES!"

Segue Magic: Fictional Couples (Sweeney)

I'M SORRY THIS IS LATE I AM THE WORST.
I have been an absentee blogger all-around lately (again, because I am the worst) but hopefully this is a thing I can stick with? I don't know. I edit videos all day at work and I found it weirdly irritating to look at my stupid face making all these annoying mistakes that are hard to edit around. I actually stopped mid-way through last night because UGH, MY OWN FACE.

Segue Magic: Best Fictional Couples (Kirsti)

Yes, I'm gatecrashing Segue Magic now and you'll get to see my face every week. YOU'RE WELCOME, TRAUMATEERS. This isn't the first time I've gatecrashed Segue Magic. Back in 2013, I did a vlog or two over on my channel on the same topics that Mari and Sweeney were discussing on the Snark Squad channel. I just watched one of those back and PLEASE DON'T GO AND FIND THEM OH MY GOD, IT'S TERRIBLE. And largely unedited. And kind of like watching a video that was filmed with a potato.
Anyway.

Segue Magic: Favorite Fictional Couples (Marines)

Hello friends!
Firstly, thank you for being so marvelously patient as we've been figuring our way around some scheduling things recently. We're still existing in that troubling place where we want to do all the things and have all of the time constraints. However, picking up Segue Magic again was a huge priority this year because we just love making these videos and opening up the conversation to all kinds of other topics.

Segue Magic: First Celebrity Crushes (Sweeney)

The most awkward thing about this video isn't even my list but just me, in general. As a human. I can't help that. This video is more fictional characters than people. I also made an egregious oversight by neglecting to mention The Green Power Ranger and also Johnny Depp, specifically from Edward Scissorhands, because this is a list of shame.

Segue Magic: Favorite Characters (Lorraine)

Sorry this is late but I went out of town and blah, blah, blah. #excusesexcuses.
So, a few things:
1 - You can tell that I recorded this early with every intention of having it done before traveling, but that didn't happen. So basically, yes, I did drop the spirit stick.
To that end, we will also be skipping this week's Segue Magic as we are knee deep in scheduling ALL THE THINGS in preparation for some more travels coming up soon. Please forgive us.

Segue Magic: Favorite Characters (Sweeney)

Going first is the mega worst because I'm generally left to come up with my thoughts on super short notice and I am the sort of person to obsess over whether I said the right thing and inevitably change my mind 16 more times.
That's my way of apologizing for this video and also all the videos. I need more days to think. I always need more days. Then there aren't more days and I am left to nervously stand in front of a camera thinking about the thing and then I edit the video and say, "WRONG! ALL WRONG!" but it's 2am and I have to edit it and go to bed so I can be a person the next day.
And that is my life.

Segue Magic: Beyond Traumaland (Lorraine)

I just want to tell you all the things, Internet. Don't run away! The video below does not actually contain all the things.
Here's what's not in this video, but are things you should know:
- I'm not watching TV outside of what I'm doing for Snark Squad. Not a thing.
- I talked a lot more about why I didn't like The Fault in Our Stars and my issues with John Green. And about how awful that movie experience was, but how nice the movie was. Maybe one day I will talk about that again. Also, I went to see TFioS twice, because YAY FREE TICKETS. I cried both times...

Segue Magic: Beyond Traumaland (Sweeney)

Welcome back to another edition of Snark Lady Ramblings. I swear I own a brush and I promise to use it before I record another video. Ideally I won't make a habit of waiting until 3am to record these.
Struggles aside, this week I didn't have a topic and so I decided to do another edition of Beyond Traumaland, which is a thing we tried to make a regular part of Segue Magic but we'd have to have kept up with Segue Magic with greater regularity to declare such things.
We're getting close, though, with two whole entries.

Segue Magic: Travelogues (Lorraine)

I'm kicking off Segue Magic by veering off the topic considerably. Mostly because I haven't been enough places to have real favorites.
On the cutting room floor is a story about sitting with all the Sweeney siblings and a couple of cousins, listening to them talk about the number of places they've lived. When someone mentioned five (either for themselves or another cousin) there was good natured laughter. "Five is soooo low!"
...I've lived in two states my whole life, and one was only for like a hot minute while I broke teeth and learned to walk.

Segue Magic: Travelogues (Sweeney)

SEGUE MAGIC LIVES! I don't really have words for how excited I am about this. Actually that's not true. The problem is that I have too many words. I recorded over 20 minutes of video and it was only through sheer force of will and tenacity that I managed to get it under 4. It ends sort of abruptly, but that's the price I had to pay.
This was sort of an odd topic to revive this with, what with it not being particularly pop-culture-centric, but it was fun and I could talk about it forever (clearly). I might cobble together an extras video of some sort for all the things I dropped. It's mostly just place #2 that suffered.

Segue Magic: Fifty Shades of Finished Forever (Sweeney)

THE END! We obviously spent some time brainstorming the best way to do this whole finale week thing, and we decided that vlogs would be a good way to get some of our "final thoughts" off of our chests. It's also a solid way for us to revive the Segue Magic feature that sort of fizzled and died. (Stay tuned to see if this revival works out.)
We're not operating on a particularly concrete prompt. This is just sort of "closing thoughts," with Lorraine's video on Friday being the final word on our Fifty Shades series. It seems fitting, since she started this treacherous journey on her lonesome.

Segue Magic: Summer Beyond Traumaland (Lorraine)

I don't know if we can keep calling all of these late or not. I think the first rule of Segue Magic is that there are no rules when it comes to Segue Magic.
Last time, Sweeney introduced "Beyond Traumaland," which gives us a chance to briefly discuss things we are reading and watching outside of the material we cover here on Snark Squad. In the video below, I talk to you a little about Code Name Verity, Eleanor & Park, the seventh season of Doctor Who and Orphan Black.
Plus I also confuse myself a little bit when it comes to spoiler tagging vlogs.
