Supernatural S03 E02 – Leave me alone, tiny Satan

We open in Cicero, Indiana where a (presumably divorced) father is dropping his daughter home. Something’s clearly got her spooked, as she runs straight to her mum—according to dad, she pitched a fit. She missed her mother and doesn’t want to stay at her dad’s any more. “He’s mean, and there are monsters there,” she complains—her mother comforts her, as we cut to the dad’s house.
Like most homeowners in this series, the dad seems to have a Basement Of Don’t Go In There, and – bonus! – it’s filled with lots of woodwork tools. This can only end well. He’s making a wooden rocking horse, which is one leg away from completion - is that for his daughter? ‘Cause if so no wonder she doesn't want to stay with him, he’s hilariously out of touch; she’s about five years too old for a rocking horse.

Supernatural S03 E01 – Seven’s the magic number

First things first, please welcome my shiny new partner in Supernatural recapping crime, Anna! I am so ridiculously thrilled that she agreed to join me, because words cannot describe how much I did NOT want to recap another seven (or more) seasons of this show alone. (But mostly because she's hilarious and adorable and spells "realise" the same way I do. #CommonwealthPower)
Anna May: HI. Not gonna lie, I did a little celebratory dance when Kirsti asked me to join her on the Supernatural recaps. All aboard the snarkmobile. Doot doot. (And +1 for non-USA spelling *side-eyes autocorrect*)

Supernatural S02 Wrap-Up Post

Holy shit, you guys. I love season 2 a lot, but there were honestly times when I never thought I was going to finish it. It turns out - perhaps unsurprisingly - that recapping a show by yourself is a hell of a lot more work than recapping a show with one or two other people, even if the recaps are about 1,000 words shorter. So it is with much relief that I reach the end of my solo recapping career. (Anna, don't ever leave me...)
Anyway, it's time for the obligatory end of season dance party:

Supernatural S02 E22 – That’s not healthy

We're treated to another round of Carry On Wayward Son because obviously, then we see Sam's dead body lying on a bed, Dean standing over him. Let's just go ahead and do this, shall we?
Bobby walks in with a bucket of chicken, and tells Dean he has to eat something. Dean disagrees and swigs from a flask. Bobby suggests burying Sam, but Dean won't have a bar of it. Bobby begs for Dean's help dealing with the whole world ending thing, but Dean yells "Well, then let it end!". He's sacrificed enough and he's done. He tells Bobby to leave. Bobby sighs and heads out, telling Dean he knows where to find him. Dean looks back at Sam's corpse, a tear rolling down his cheek.

Supernatural S02 E21 – X-Men Assemble

Previously: Dean ended up in his fantasy world after being captured by a djinn. — All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1 Kirsti: Carry on my wayword soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!! That’s right, friends. It’s...

Supernatural S02 E20 – I dream of djinn(ie)

In the previouslies, we're treated to a bunch of clips of Mary and Jessica to let us know that this episode is going to be suuuuuuper fun. When we're done with previouslies, Dean's in the Bromobile, which now has new plates. Because that TOTALLY makes it less obvious. Sam phones to say that there's a cop car outside their motel. He heaves a sigh of relief when it leaves. Sam asks if Dean's got anything, but LOL NOPE because Sam's got him searching a massive area. Sam - books and Filofax of Shadows open to relevant entries - reveals that they're hunting a djinn. Dean gushes about how hot Barbara Eden was, and Sam eyerolls before saying that djinns like to hole up in ruins.

Supernatural S02 E19 – Orange Is The New Leather Jacket

Green River County Jail. A bunch of orange-clad inmates are doing normal prison-y things, like lifting weights and playing cards. Inside, workers reopen an old cell block. When they get the door open, the back wall has dried blood on it. They collectively shudder, and their breath is visible in the air. They turn as if something's just flown between them, then papers in the hall fly everywhere.
In another cell block, Rack is lying on a bed reading. The lights flicker and he crosses to his cell door, staring into the hallway as the flickering continues.

Supernatural S02 E18 – Team Fangirl

Night, the woods. A young woman calls out to her friends. There's no response. A guy comes rushing up to her, yelling that her friends are dead and that he has to find his sister. He runs off into the darkness and she shouts after him. There's a noise behind her and she turns, then screams. Her scream trails off pathetically as the camera pans out to show that she's on a film set, pretending to be terrified of a tennis ball. The director calls a cut, and production assistants rush around doing their thing. The director asks Tara, the actress, to try a better scream next time, and she says she's struggling with the tennis ball thing. He insists that the final product will be terrifying, she says she'll try harder and withdraws to a seat nearby.

Supernatural S02 E17 – That’s murder, dude

San Francisco. A pretty young brunette (Madison) is getting drinks with her friends when her boss approaches and says he needs her back at the office because they have a ton of work to do. She calls bullshit. He sheepishly admits it, then begs for a lift. She calmly says she's already called a cab. He walks away, and Madison and her friends laugh. But she stops when she spots a surly looking dude in a leather jacket staring at her creepily from across the bar. She looks worried. Cut to her walking to her car alone. GIRL, NO. When she gets in her car and drives off, Leather Jacket Stalker follows. Cut to Madison's office the following morning. She's making coffee when she spots blood on her boss' office door. She finds him dead on the desk, chest ripped to shreds.

Supernatural S02 E16 – A sixth sense

Supernatural S02 E15 – Dickheads beware

Okay, y'all. This is one of my favourite episodes ever, because of reasons. So I've been excited for, like, EVER about recapping this one. Let's get to it. A middle-aged professor type heads up the steps of a college building after dark, then stops when he sees a pretty young thing (who looks weirdly like a brunette Reese Witherspoon) in a sundress fixing her shoe. I'm going to go ahead and award him a "THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS" because he's in an overcoat and scarf, and doesn't think her lack of coat is at all suspect. Anyway, Brunette Witherspoon flirts a little as she says that she's in one of his classes and he invites her up to his office. There's some more flirting, a little making out, and then her face turns all grey and rotten. "What's the matter? Don't you like me any more?" she says sadly. Downstairs, a janitor locks the front of the building and heads down the stairs. There's a crunch behind him and he turns to see Creeper Professor, face first in the concrete.

Supernatural S02 E14 – Embrace your feminine side

Dean stands next to the Bromobile by an underpass and phones Ellen in a panic. Sam's been missing for days, there's no sign of him, and Dean's freaking the fuck out because it's like Papa Winchester all over again. Ellen hasn't heard anything. Dean's phone beeps and he looks at the screen to see an incoming call from Sam. He answers, then tells Sam to calm down because he's on his way.
Crappy motel. Sam hangs up the phone and stares at his bloody knuckles. Dean Bromobiles his way to Sam. He reaches the motel and rushes to Sam's room. He panics a little when he finds blood all over Sam's shirt, but Sam assures him it's not his.

Supernatural S02 E13 – Avenging Angels

First things first, this is the second of three episodes in this season that's named after a Led Zeppelin song. I know Dean loves his Zeppelin, but that's a little over the top. ANYWAY. Providence, Rhode Island. A junkie-looking young woman sits watching TV, surrounded by creepy-as-shit angel statues. She flicks from the Drew Carey Show to a televangelist, wibbling about how God is with you. She turns the TV off, and the lights flicker. The TV switches on again. The televangelist asks if she can hear the glory. The lights continue to flicker and the room starts to shake. She stares in shock and awe at a white light that appears.
FLAME ON!

Supernatural S02 E12 – Cybermen would be preferable

We open with a news bulletin in Milwaukee about a siege going on at a bank downtown. A reporter informs us there are about ten hostages, then there's a kerfuffle in the background. The zoomy cameraman earns his pay cheque and shows us that Dean's in the doorway of the bank, using a security guard as a human shield. He yells at the cops to get back, then gets "OH SHIT" face when he sees the news cameras.
FLAME ON!
After the credits, it's the previous day and the boys are at a jewellery store pretending to be FBI agents.

Supernatural S02 E11 – Return of the creepy kids

A van pulls up outside a gorgeous but slightly creepy mansion-turned-hotel. Inside, a woman gives the driver instructions on the boxes he's to collect while he nostalgia-mopes about the hotel closing down because his parents and grandparents got engaged there. She has no fucks to give. He heads upstairs as two girls in slightly oldy-worldy outfits watch from the landing.
One complains about Van Guy taking their toys, but the mother says there are plenty of other toys to play with.
Cut to Tyler, the younger of the two girls, playing with a creepy-ass dollhouse that's a scale model of the hotel.
