*dusts off the Childhood Trauma section*
Hello friends! I know this is super weird to have a Goosebumps post up on a random Thursday but I've been working on this project for a long time and just couldn't wait to publish it as soon as it was all done.
Sweeney came up with the idea of making an interactive series of videos where viewers could work their way through a Goosebumps choose-your-own-adventure book. We first collected video for this last year, but the project was shelved.
Happy (belated) Mother's Day, Traumateers.
We celebrated by being super proud of ourselves for actually being timely with one of these topics:

It's prom season for those of our friends who have the misfortune of still being in high school. On the bright side: prom must mean you're almost done with high school!
I'm mostly kidding except for the part where I strongly disliked high school and maybe am not kidding.
Anyway, we figured we'd get in on the timely topic action and ask you all what fictional prom or school dance you'd attend and who would be your date. Check out the video responses below:

As promised, these Segue Magic posts will now be once a week wrap-up posts. This one is kind of a doozy because we made a little scheduling switch. Sweeney's videos will be going up on Mondays, Kirsti's on Wednesday and mine will be up on Fridays.
Since we made that switch in the middle of a topic, we have a few more videos to share with you than normal, but for the most part, these posts will only feature three four-minute videos going forward. Basically what I'm saying is, "SORRY FOR SO MUCH OF OUR FACES!"

I'M SORRY THIS IS LATE I AM THE WORST.
I have been an absentee blogger all-around lately (again, because I am the worst) but hopefully this is a thing I can stick with? I don't know. I edit videos all day at work and I found it weirdly irritating to look at my stupid face making all these annoying mistakes that are hard to edit around. I actually stopped mid-way through last night because UGH, MY OWN FACE.

Yes, I'm gatecrashing Segue Magic now and you'll get to see my face every week. YOU'RE WELCOME, TRAUMATEERS. This isn't the first time I've gatecrashed Segue Magic. Back in 2013, I did a vlog or two over on my channel on the same topics that Mari and Sweeney were discussing on the Snark Squad channel. I just watched one of those back and PLEASE DON'T GO AND FIND THEM OH MY GOD, IT'S TERRIBLE. And largely unedited. And kind of like watching a video that was filmed with a potato.
Anyway.
Anyway.
In TMYK tradition, here is the part where I explain why this month was crazy. This month was a boring kind of crazy, which is one of the worst kinds of crazy months - being beaten out for that title only by sad crazy. After a summer of adventures, my workload increased considerably and so did Lorraine's who not only got more work stuff, but also started school.
Lorraine: BOOOO. I mean, fine, yay education or whatever, but boo. My return to school has lined up with Sweeney's finally being done with it, which is strange for both of us, I think. If we keep trading off this way, though, you can just always assume that some of the time used putting together this blog should've been spent on schoolwork. Forever and ever.

The most awkward thing about this video isn't even my list but just me, in general. As a human. I can't help that. This video is more fictional characters than people. I also made an egregious oversight by neglecting to mention The Green Power Ranger and also Johnny Depp, specifically from Edward Scissorhands, because this is a list of shame.
I'm about to use the term "celebrity" very lightly:
Lorraine: This was a lot of fun to put together. I feel much better about this list than I do my worst of list. Not much to add here except...
Things got a little bit away from me.
Last night, after watching Sweeney's great video, I became a lean, mean, ranking machine. I ranked story arcs and characters and episodes, and also what's here in the video below. I tried to squeeze in my bottom 10 episodes as well, but there was just no way that was going to happen time-wise, which is why the video ends kind of abruptly.
Also cut for time, an explanation about how there was more of a debate during my Buffy rankings about what was the best, quality wise, and what was the best to me.

I continue my reign of terror and cheating. Cut for time: other examples to accompany item #5 (spoilers!) and some gushing about why I wish I had more numbers so that #2 didn't have to be collapsed and could actually be multiple things. Ultimately, the point of that rambling, though, was that as great as #2's parts are, the whole is ultimately greater than the sum of its parts.
(See, now I gave you a bit of a guessing game! What are these things! It's even harder since I gave myself zero rules in framing the kinds of things I could choose because if you're going to cheat, cheat big.)

The levels on which I have cheated here are numerous. Even as I was editing I was struck by all the things that I omitted. This video is, in fact, "Five random things I came up with that I really hated about Angel and arbitrarily placed in order." Except my #1 which I stand by. Probably. Until someone in the comments makes a compelling case for something else.
Earlier today, I talked about my ten worst episodes of Angel. Now it's time to talk about my ten best. And in doing so, I feel like I should expand a little on something I said at the beginning of this video. Basically, I want to talk a little bit more about my Honourable Mentions. Does this count as spoilering you on the contents of my vlog? Whatever, just go with it.
Let's start with Smile Time. Yes, it's one of the most memorable episodes of the show as a whole, and I was pretty much waiting for us to reach season 5, episode 14 from the minute we started recapping Angel.

Our very first Buffy post went up on 2 July 2012. It's been a long and bumpy road through the Buffyverse since then. I'm not even entirely sure how we came to recap Angel because I can remember sending emails to Lor and Sweeney that were all "Guys, we really shouldn't recap Angel because it's pretty freaking bad...". AND YET. Here we are, 715 days after we started Buffy and 456 days after our first Angel post went up. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, WE FINISHED A THING.
Recapping Angel has been a very different experience to recapping Buffy. Though I'd seen the show before, this was only really my second time through so there was a lot of stuff that I didn't really remember.
