Segue Magic: Beyond Traumaland (Lorraine)

I just want to tell you all the things, Internet. Don't run away! The video below does not actually contain all the things.
Here's what's not in this video, but are things you should know:
- I'm not watching TV outside of what I'm doing for Snark Squad. Not a thing.
- I talked a lot more about why I didn't like The Fault in Our Stars and my issues with John Green. And about how awful that movie experience was, but how nice the movie was. Maybe one day I will talk about that again. Also, I went to see TFioS twice, because YAY FREE TICKETS. I cried both times...

Segue Magic: Beyond Traumaland (Sweeney)

Welcome back to another edition of Snark Lady Ramblings. I swear I own a brush and I promise to use it before I record another video. Ideally I won't make a habit of waiting until 3am to record these.
Struggles aside, this week I didn't have a topic and so I decided to do another edition of Beyond Traumaland, which is a thing we tried to make a regular part of Segue Magic but we'd have to have kept up with Segue Magic with greater regularity to declare such things.
We're getting close, though, with two whole entries.

Segue Magic: Travelogues (Lorraine)

I'm kicking off Segue Magic by veering off the topic considerably. Mostly because I haven't been enough places to have real favorites.
On the cutting room floor is a story about sitting with all the Sweeney siblings and a couple of cousins, listening to them talk about the number of places they've lived. When someone mentioned five (either for themselves or another cousin) there was good natured laughter. "Five is soooo low!"
...I've lived in two states my whole life, and one was only for like a hot minute while I broke teeth and learned to walk.

Segue Magic: Travelogues (Sweeney)

SEGUE MAGIC LIVES! I don't really have words for how excited I am about this. Actually that's not true. The problem is that I have too many words. I recorded over 20 minutes of video and it was only through sheer force of will and tenacity that I managed to get it under 4. It ends sort of abruptly, but that's the price I had to pay.
This was sort of an odd topic to revive this with, what with it not being particularly pop-culture-centric, but it was fun and I could talk about it forever (clearly). I might cobble together an extras video of some sort for all the things I dropped. It's mostly just place #2 that suffered.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Worst of (Lorraine)

Seriously, guys, ranking this is such hard work. So is recording yourself on video and then looking back at your own face for too long while you edit and realizing your hair is kind of doing something funny in the back.
ANYWAY. It's my turn to squee about the end. I realize we've been doing that now for a solid two weeks, but THE END YOU GUYS. It's crazy.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Best Of (Sweeney)

Now this is actually it, for me at least. It's weird to think that this is the last time - in the foreseeable future - that I will be starting a Buffy post. I know I've gotten to about five rounds of THE END! nostalgia, but now it's actually it. As such, this video is basically about how this show gives me all the feelings. It's where we first declared our allegiance to Team Feels and that's something of a subtitle to this video. "Fucking Brilliant, or TEAM FEELS FOREVER."
Again, thank you all for watching and commenting this show with us. It has been a lot of fun and you all helped make that the case. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Segue Magic: Fifty Shades of Finished Forever (Sweeney)

THE END! We obviously spent some time brainstorming the best way to do this whole finale week thing, and we decided that vlogs would be a good way to get some of our "final thoughts" off of our chests. It's also a solid way for us to revive the Segue Magic feature that sort of fizzled and died. (Stay tuned to see if this revival works out.)
We're not operating on a particularly concrete prompt. This is just sort of "closing thoughts," with Lorraine's video on Friday being the final word on our Fifty Shades series. It seems fitting, since she started this treacherous journey on her lonesome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LORRAINE

It's time for a super epic DESTINY'S CHILD DANCE PARTY. Why? It's Lorraine's birthday! I know you all have important things to do with your lives or whatever. LOLJK. I actually know that you all come here to avoid ever doing important things with your lives. Or because having Destiny's Child Dance Parties with us is basically the most important and best and most awesome way you could possibly spend your time. Any of these things.
Since Lorraine is one of my favorite human beings on this planet or any other that I am aware of, and because without her my favorite thing on the whole internet would not exist, she gets an entire celebratory post and you should join the fun.

Fifty Shades Freed Chapter 13 – Man, this bitch is evil. [VLOG]

This chapter, dear readers, marks the mid-way point in Fifty Shades Freed. We are halfway there. (And trying not to think about the fact that this means we still have three long months of Fifty Shades reading ahead of us.) As with the first two books, we are celebrating this momentous occasion with a vlog. This is the final Fifty Shades vlog recap! I realize that we have now celebrated the shit out of every completed step in the Fifty Shades reading process and it has probably lost all meaning for you, but we really like to celebrate.
Several of you mentioned on Twitter that 5 minutes is your max for a vlog, so I apologize for not being able to get our 40 minutes of rambling into anything less than 14.

Segue Magic: Summer Beyond Traumaland (Lorraine)

I don't know if we can keep calling all of these late or not. I think the first rule of Segue Magic is that there are no rules when it comes to Segue Magic.
Last time, Sweeney introduced "Beyond Traumaland," which gives us a chance to briefly discuss things we are reading and watching outside of the material we cover here on Snark Squad. In the video below, I talk to you a little about Code Name Verity, Eleanor & Park, the seventh season of Doctor Who and Orphan Black.
Plus I also confuse myself a little bit when it comes to spoiler tagging vlogs.

Segue Magic: Music (Lorraine)

This video makes me giggle because I decided to record it without my glasses but was too lazy to put my contacts on. It makes me extra squinty at points. Hilar. Additionally, in retrospect, yes, I do realize that it makes me sound rather hipster-y. What can you do?
I can't promise that I won't be squinty next video, but I do promise to not say, "amazing."
